This 6-week unit study will focus on basic bird biology, ecology and identification. We will spend time understanding the basic anatomy of birds and how to identify them in the field. We will talk about their role in the ecosystem and ways that we can create an environment that allows them to thrive. Students will design and complete a habitat improvement project using the knowledge they have acquired. We will learn also about different citizen science efforts related to birds and participate together in a Fall Bird Count and Project FeederWatch. Come join us as we learn about the world of birds!
